Hi, I'm Auden Oakes!

I am a journalism and political science student at Northeastern University with a passion for print journalism and visual storytelling. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Bard High School Early College in Manhattan, from which I graduated with an A.A. degree from Bard College. At my high school, I was the editor-in-chief of the idiosyncratic literary magazine The Underground and founder of The Bard Film Club, the latter with which I wrote, directed, anchored, and produced a 14-episode series called the Bard Broadcasting Channel. Additionally, during the summer of 2023, I did a four-week internship for the non-profit publication Streetsblog NYC, primarily covering city infrastructure issues and transportation equity. At Northeastern, I have transferred my experience to The Huntington News as a news correspondent, where I continue to hone my skills as well as provide relevant, accurate, and engaging stories to the university's student population.
